I was able to get an appointment scheduled for the next business day (which ended up being a Monday). Monday morning came and… no one came! I called Kevin and he was extremely apologetic – he made a scheduling error and offered to come fix my furnace for no charge. He arrived (early) after hours. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He cleaned the furnace and replaced a part and within a few minutes my furnace was working and I had heat again. I offered to pay him, to which he refused. Kevin is a stand-up guy and I have already referred him to a number of my co-workers. It was very refreshing to work with someone who can admit a mistake and go out of their way to make it right. I will be using Hughes Mechanical again.

Air conditioner wouldn’t cool. Paid another company over $280 and it still didn’t work. Comments: Very knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge. Spent the better part of a morning analyzing and repairing air conditioner then performed a furnace check-up–all at the lowest quoted price that I had. Work Description: Kevin removed our old worn out swamp cooler and replaced it with a new more efficient one. He was very polite and worked tirelessly by himself. Furnace air was not blowing. Kevin came and serviced the furnace finding a burnt out fan blower motor. Kevin was willing to come out night or day in this freezing weather to repair my furnace . He had the part needed on hand so did not have to wait for the part. He came at 6:00 am and got the job done. I had heat within 2 hours. He was very professional and pleasant. I was very grateful !

I contacted Kevin about replacing my swamp cooler. It hasn’t been working right and no one could figure out why, so we just decided to replace. Kevin gave me a quote very close to all the other quotes. The difference? Kevin is the only one to look at my swamp cooler. After describing my problem, he said to replace the thermostat and change the pads. We replaced the thermostat and Kevin did the pads. My swamp cooler runs like new! He could have just charged me to replace it but fixed it instead and saved me $2,000. He also fixed my air conditioner b/c it wasn’t performing 100%!
